Start Change with Yourself

Walking home from the school bus stop this morning, another epiphany rocked my world and I had to share.

Why do some folks believe that change should happen quickly? There's a pill to take for 'quick weight loss', there's a 'get rich quick' program...whatever happened to good honest work? And remember cramming for exams to pass the test and then forgetting the information a week later?

All parts of our lives are meant to be savored; in savoring, we remember, we build long-lasting memories.

In a relationship, we do or say nice things for each other, or we forgive more readily and love more passionately, thereby strengthening the bond.

In obtaining optimum health (will we ever reach it?), we make small choices every day that eventually become part of our nature.

To enjoy our job, we smile a little more when we're on the phone, we care just a little more each day about doing the right thing; we build our own job satisfaction.

To appreciate our lot in life, we volunteer to give back for all that we've received, we find a sense of community and belonging.

Eventually, ever so eventually, we self actualize, we find fulfillment.
